Trees on a small island in the Kralingse Plas (Kralingen, Rotterdam)
Winter trees on a small island in the Kralingse Plas (‘Kralingen Lake’). During the Second World War the entire centre of Rotterdam was bombed to rubble by German Bombers (‘Rotterdam Blitz’) on 14 May 1940. Part of this rubble was dumped into the Kralingse Plas and turned into several small islands. The island on the photo is one of them. On this photo the Kralingse Plas is frozen. Photo shot during nightfall.
