Sunset over the mouth of the Rijnhaven Harbour Basin
Beautiful sunset over the mouth of the Rijnhaven harbour basin and river Nieuwe Maas (‘New Meuse’). On the left: Fenixloods II (‘Fenix Shed II’) and animal feed factory Provimi on the Veerlaan on the Katendrecht peninsula. Fenixloods II is one of the two so-called Fenixloodsen (‘Fenix Sheds’), which were in use by C. Steinweg Handelsveem B.V. until recently. The Rijnhaven is an old harbour basin, dug between 1887 and 1895. Note the flakes of ice.
