About CharlesVermeulen.com · 31 March 2006, 14:12 CET by Charles Vermeulen
Dear visitor,
Welcome to CharlesVermeulen.com, my weblog on Dutch (foreign) politics, international politics, geopolitics, human rights, sociology and history, in which I try to comment on the things that I read about and in which I refer to articles or points of view that deserve more attention. CharlesVermeulen.com reflects my special interest in the subjects of racism, immigration, nationalism, ethnicity and identity, which connect almost all postings on this blog to each other. For most of them deal with groups of people with strong identities encountering each other: China rising in a world dominated by Western powers, a Dutch company offshoring its call center activities to Suriname, the U.S. invading Iraq or clashing with Iran – although most of the time under the surface the subject is always there.
Furthermore something about the date of some of the postings. The first posting on CharlesVermeulen.com dates from 4 September 2005. Nevertheless you’ll find entries on this blog with earlier dates. Those ones are slightly modified and translated postings from my previous blog, CEP’s Log, which was written in Dutch. This blog doesn’t exist anymore.
To conclude, a few words on contacting me. I am happy and honored to receive your comments, criticism and questions. Off course every e-mail will be read. However, after being present on the web with several sites for six years now, I learned that it’s impossible to respond to all e-mail. Don’t take this for a lack of interest. Beside blogging, I follow another profession to earn my keep. Therefore there isn’t much time for correspondence left for me.
